About Me

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here — let me tell you a little about the person behind the page.

I’m a Harlem-born, New York City girl at heart, and the daughter of Guinean immigrants. Growing up as the daughter of Guinean immigrants, I was raised in a culture with very clear expectations — for women, for men and for what life was supposed to look like. But from early on, something in me knew that didn’t feel quite right for me. I was always in search of something different, something beyond the norms I was born into. And here’s where it gets beautiful — being raised by African immigrants in America meant I was surrounded by a mosaic of cultures, lifestyles, and ways of being from the very beginning. That exposure showed me that I didn’t have to subscribe to any one way of living. There was a whole world out there, full of people doing life differently — and I wanted to see all of it.

Here’s the thing about me — I have always been a wanderer. We’re talking parks, waterfronts, random streets with no destination in mind. I would just go. I even got in trouble for it a time or two growing up, which, looking back, makes total sense. Exploring isn’t just something I do; it’s who I am.

Traveling through my lens means looking for both the similarities and the differences that make this world so rich. I’ve found that no matter where you go, people are more alike than we think — but those beautiful differences? They’re what make every experience worth chasing.

When I’m not wandering, I’m working as a full-time physical therapist, because apparently my love of movement doesn’t clock out. It’s all connected, I believe in moving your body, moving through the world, and never staying too still for too long.
This blog is my way of sharing all of it with you. Welcome aboard. ✈️
